I carried these across several downtown blocks, on two city buses, and through my neighborhood. My everything is sore. BUT the books look good! There’s a slight alignment issue with the inner and outer covers but overall, I am really pleased with how they turned out. I’m taking a few copies with me to TCAF this weekend. If you preordered a copy, it will go out in the next week or two. The rest of the books will go up for sale around the same time as well. Keep checking back here for more updates. ~J

SUBMISSIONS ARE CLOSED.

Hi friendships,

At this moment, we are officially closing the submission period for the zine! I want to say THANK YOU times a million to everyone that took the time to make something and send it in. We received a lot of entries and it has been a real joy to go through them all. If we’ve learned anything from starting this project it’s how deeply personal a game Animal Crossing is to a lot of people. June 9th cannot come soon enough!

Unfortunately, not all of your submissions can be featured in our printed zine. :/ Meghan and I have a lot of hard decisions to make in order to keep the page count down to a workable number and we apologize in advance to everyone that doesn’t make it. The zine has gotten much bigger than we originally anticipated. From the looks of things, we’re looking at over 60 pages so far! Eventually, we’ll try to upload all of the entries to this blog so that everyone can see the work that was lovingly done!

All contributors who will be in the zine will be contacted within the next week or so. Preorders for the zine will go up shortly after that. In the meantime, check out the shop for a few AC-zine related goodies and original art.

Stay tuned! It’s all happening. We can’t wait to have a finished product to share with all of you.

It’s going to be a pretty big zine! I’m looking into printing options at the moment and it might be headed into “perfect bound” territory; maybe even a second volume. I’m going to be funding this mainly out of my own pocket. I have added a few small items to the Animal Crosszine shop. Eventually, I’ll put up some original Animal Crossing artwork that I’ve made over the last year or so, including this Crazy Redd, and Tom Nook. All proceeds will go towards the cost of printing the zine.

You’ll be able to preorder the zine sometime in mid-April when we’ve selected all of the final submissions and all of the contributors who made it in are notified. Stay tuned!

Greetings, friends!

Just wanted to give you all an update on the status of the zine! Response has been really lovely and we’ve gotten in some really nice submissions so far! Some of you have been worried about not making the March 15th deadline, so hopefully we can ease your minds a bit by giving you some more time! Tell your friends! Let’s make the biggest and best love letter to AC that we can!

April 1st, 2013 is the new deadline to submit something for the zine!

Don’t forget to submit a head shot/portrait of yourself as a Boy or Girl character for the List of Contributors/Town Residents section at the back. It doesn’t need to be more than 1.5 x 1.5 inches in size.


Animal Crosszine has been listed on Tiny Cartridge’s Upcoming Releases page for June! The goal is to have it available to everyone around the same time as Animal Crossing: New Leaf’s June 9th release date.

A Gentle Reminder

Hello everyone!

So we are just over a month away from our deadline and submissions are starting to roll in! We have an exciting line-up of contributors so far, but we are still looking for more! 

All of the info can be found here.

The deadline is March 15th, 2013.

Additionally, all contributors who will be featured in the zine are asked to draw a small (approximately 1.5 inches by 1.5 inches) portrait of themselves as a BOY or GIRL character/avatar from Animal Crossing which will be included in the List of Contributors/Town Residents section at the back. So keep that in mind when you are coming up with your pieces. If you have any other questions, feel free to send them to us at animalcrosszine(AT)gmail(DOT)com.

Call for Submissions

Attention fans of Animal Crossing! We are looking for your submissions for our Animal Crossing fanzine. Tentatitively titled Animal Crosszine, it will be comprised of comics, stories and fan art celebrating Animal Crossing!
 
Here is everything you need to know:
- Submissions must be about Animal Crossing. We will not accept crossovers or porn.
- The interiors of the book will be black and white, so please send all submissions in black and white or grayscale.
- Sequential submissions must be 4 pages or less.
- Final trim size will be 5.5 x 8.5
- Please submit your files as PSD at 300dpi
- Submissions must be received by March 15th, 2013. Send files to animalcrosszine@gmail.com
 
We will not be able to print all submissions. Everyone whose work is accepted will receive a printed copy of the finished book. Keep an eye on http://animalcrosszine.tumblr.com/ for more updates!
